Wireless internet for laptop is easily accomplished when your laptop is wireless-ready. Wireless access at home or on the road requires a laptop or smart phone that is ready to send and receive the signals that make it possible to go online. It must be wireless ready.
If internet wireless capability is not built into your laptop you should be able to find a compatible wireless internet card or wireless internet adapter that plugs into the laptop making it ready for wireless.
There are several ways to tell if your laptop is ready for wireless. No one way is better than the others, as long as it works for you.
Wireless Internet for Laptop How to tell if your laptop is wireless-ready
Check the taskbar
Check the taskbar (the row of icons at the bottom of your screen) to see if you have a wireless or wifi symbol. Place your mouse over each symbol and wait for the popup to tell you what that icon is for.
You are looking for the network icon that tells you if you are connected and if wireless networks are available. If wireless networks are available it's a good sign that you can sign onto a wireless network.
Check the keyboard and buttons
I know it sounds obvious, but if you don't know what you're looking for you might not see it. Check your computer's keyboard to see if there is a wireless key. Be sure to check the lighter colored function keys if you have them. My computer has a function key with a wireless symbol.
That is a good indicator that I am wireless ready, but I have to be sure so I will check to see if I have a wireless network adapter.

Ask someone who sells your computer
If you still aren't sure about your computer take a look at the computer (the bottom too) and find out the make and model. Then call an electronics store that sells that computer and ask them if it has wireless. You could also perform this search yourself online. Try the manufacturers website first.
