T Mobile Wireless Internet

Work, Play, and Live Smarter

T Mobile wireless internet gave me years of mostly happy service with the Sidekick that turned heads every time I took it out. Service was spot on, and the devices they offer have only gotten better, as in cooler, faster, and smarter.

The availability of 3G on T Mobile's network is not as widely available as the other providers so take a close look. If you can get coverage you'll enjoy some pretty awesome smartphones. If you can't get coverage your phone might not be so smart.

T Mobile Wireless InternetThe facts: T-Mobile USA is currently the fourth-largest wireless carrier in the United States with approximately 34 million customers. T-Mobile USA is the United States based subsidiary of T-Mobile International AG.

Phones:

T Mobile Wireless InternetT Mobile has a great lineup of hip and popular Android smartphones. In all I counted 21 smartphones offered in my area including the newer myTouch.

I used to have the Sidekick and I loved it. I ended up switching to a Blackberry seeking a more sophisticated device. I'm not a kid and felt I needed something that seemed a little more "professional". In hindsight... well, it's too late for that.

T Mobile also has the G1 with Google, several Blackberry models, HTC Touch Pro2, and the Motorola CLIQ just to name a few. Yes, I'd love to carry some of these too. I need a job testing smartphones!

Apps:

I browsed the T Mobile Studio for apps specifically for the myTouch 3G phone. I found a lot of them were free (which is good) and a lot of them probably appeal to someone younger than me, someone looking for a different kind of 3G experience. I'm 49 and I don't even have games on my current smartphone.

I go for apps that are functional for my lifestyle, and that doesn't include much game playing on my phone, but that's me. Games seem to be popular, and if that's what you like you'll have no trouble finding them. Check out the T Mobile Studio and see what you can do with T Mobile wireless internet.

Network:

Check T Mobile's Availability in your area and view coverage maps

T Mobile wireless internet network predominately uses the GSM/GPRS/EDGE 1900 MHz frequency-band, making it the second-largest 1900 MHz network in the United States. T Mobile's 3G network comes in a distant 4th place so some serious consideration must be made if you seek 3G outside their coverage area. Your first stop should definitely be the coverage maps where you can check availability in your area.

There is a very nice 3G network comparison chart (pdf) you can download free here from Verizon Wireless.

USB Modems:

T Mobile Wireless InternetT Mobile offers USB connectivity with webConnect Jet and webConnect USB laptop sticks that automatically find the best T-Mobile network connection, 3G, HotSpot/Wi-Fi, or EDGE.
