Sprint Wireless InternetWelcome To The Now NetworkSprint wireless internet is something I am very familiar and satisfied with, and no, I'm not getting paid to say that. I've been a Sprint customer for the past several years and even came back to them after a 2-year stint with another wireless service. For where I live and what I want a smart phone to do, Sprint is my best choice. No matter what anyone else recommends, you should look at where you live, work, and play and find which service best fulfills your wireless internet needs in those areas. I live in West Michigan and I have acceptable coverage where I live, work, and play and could ever want to get online. Sometimes I can't get a good connection when I'm out camping, but I really don't need it out there.  The facts: Sprint operates the third largest wireless network behind Verizon and AT&T. That's about 49 million customers. The current company was created in 2005 when Sprint purchased Nextel.Individual Plans: In my zip code you can get Sprint wireless internet on both individual and shared plans that include unlimited data. That means you can be online as much as you want and not worry about extra charges. I personally would never get a data plan that wasn't unlimited, especially on a shared plan. I am on the Everything 450 plan and never even come close to using the 450 minutes included with the plan. Please report incorrect information here Phones:  Sprint has 23 PDA/Smartphones offered in my zip code including the Palm Pre (my current phone), Palm Pixi, HTC Touch Pro2, Samsung Instinct HD, HTC Hero, and Blackberry Tour 9630. To be honest, I'd love to have several of these phones.You should note that all the phones that may be available to you on Sprint may not be online at Sprint.com. Some phones in some zip codes are not offered online. You'll have to go to a Sprint store or buy it through another vendor. Apps: Apps for smartphones offered by Sprint are not a plentiful as apps for the iPhone. However, the catalog of apps is growing by leaps and bounds and it's just a matter of time before every Sprint smartphone has every useful and useless app available. I have the Palm Pre and I'm finding new and useful apps all the time. Check out the Palm webOS Applications catalog and see what you can do with Sprint wireless internet and the Palm Pre or Palm Pixi. Network: Check Sprint's Availability in your area and view coverage maps Sprint wireless internet is on a very good size 3G (EV-DO) Network. Among the top four providers, Sprint's 3G network is currently number two behind Verizon. There is a very nice 3G network comparison chart you can get here from Verizon Wireless. Sprint's advertised 3G network speeds:
Upload speed 350 kbps to 500 kbps Sprint is also expanding it's 4G network which will "...allow customers to access cable broadband-like speeds wirelessly." Think 3G speed but much faster. USB Modems:  Sprint offers several usb modems that allow you to access their 3G and 4G networks wirelessly on your laptop.
