Prepaid Wireless Internet

ReadyBroadband Review and Information

Prepaid wireless internet is now as close as a display rack at the corner convenience store. That's where I found a ReadyBroadband prepaid broadband display (see pictures) and decided to do some research.

I happen to have a friend who is looking for an option to a conventional two-year service agreement, and he's isn't alone. By 2007, two thirds of all mobile phone accounts worldwide were prepaid accounts, and prepaid broadband is growing as well.

ReadyBroadband's prepaid wireless internet is great for occasional use or even month-to-month. There are a lot of reasons why you might not want to or be able to sign a normal wireless service contract.

With prepaid there is no contract, no credit check, and no monthly bill. You get the convenience of Broadband without the commitment of a contract.

Features:

To get started using ReadyBroadband prepaid wireless internet you'll need to purchase their usb modem. This is the unit you will use for as long as you want to keep using your prepaid wireless and adding more MB.

$49.95 includes...

Installation Drive or CD

User Manual

5 MB Activation Card for first day usage

You get wireless internet access anywhere on the Sprint PCS Network - that means a 3G connection. I have Sprint myself and I have always been satisfied with my 3G mobile internet.

Did I mention the FREE 5MB card?

The fine print...

The average download speed is 400 to 700 kbps. Of course, these speeds will vary based on numerous factors including weather and geographic location (hills, valleys, etc.). Under an agreement with Sprint, ReadyBroadband customers have access to service anywhere on the Nationwide Sprint Mobile Broadband Network. Although ReadyBroadband provides subscribers access to the Nationwide Sprint Mobile Broadband Network, ReadyBroadband is responsible to the subscribers for the service. Please call ReadyBroadband with any questions or comments about services.

Prepaid Wireless InternetOn Second Thought...

I am actually hard-pressed to find many flaws with this. I use and enjoy Sprint's service so I know what to expect when I get online with this. Yes, there are other service providers (see below) cheaper, and perhaps with more coverage, but this works for me. This is so convenient I can walk to the store and have broadband with no contract. If you get coverage in your area this might be your alternative to contracts and monthly bills.

Other Prepaid Broadband Providers include AT&T, Cricket, Verizon, Virgin Mobile, and others.

2010 Prepaid Mobile Broadband Comparison
Prepaid mobile broadband offers 3G speeds without the wires, contracts, or credit checks. Compare Cricket, Millenicom, DataJack, Verizon, AT&T, Virgin Mobile, ReadyBroadband, and Slingshot.

If you need or want an alternative to a contract, and it seems most of us do, prepaid wireless might be just what you need. I would buy it. I think this would even be good in a pinch when traveling and you find yourself needing to connect.

If you think this is something you want to consider I recommend doing your homework. Check the 2010 Prepaid Mobile Broadband Comparison (show above) and find the right service for your needs.
