ATT Wireless Internet

The Fastest 3G Network... and more!

ATT wireless internet offers many different ways to get you online with multiple plans to make your smart phone smarter. You get to choose from individual and shared plans that can include rollover minutes, unlimited data, messaging, and packages for Canadian customers.

I believe you should always do what's best for you. That means you look at where you live, work, and play, and find which service best fulfills your wireless internet needs in those areas. You might not need the fastest or the biggest. Find what works best for you based on what you will use it for.

ATT Wireless InternetThe facts: AT&T is the second largest provider of wireless service in the United States with over 81.6 million wireless customers. AT&T, Inc. was formed in 1983 as SBC Communications Inc. In 2005, AT&T purchased the former "Ma Bell" AT&T Corporation. The newly merged company became AT&T.

Phones:

ATT Wireless InternetI counted 17 PDA/Smartphones being offered online in my area including the ever popular iPhone. Not all phones are available online in all areas so check the stores if you don't see what you want online.

They also sell a variety of refurbished phones offering a savings of about $50 over purchasing new. They stand behind the quality of those phones too so it's worth taking a look.

Apps:

With the iPhone the saying seems to be true, "There's an app for that." The question is, do you really need an app for that? Apps, or applications, are those wonderful add-ons you can download that do a variety of things on your smartphone. Games seem to be the most popular category, and there thousands of apps for the iPhone. I read the average price for the top apps is under $3 bucks. Check out the iPhone app store and see what you can do with ATT wireless internet.

Network:

Check ATT's Availability in your area and view coverage maps

ATT says it's wireless network has the best global coverage. That may be true for overall network coverage. However, I would say based on looking at their own maps that the size of their 3G coverage ranks number 3 behind Verizon and Sprint. They claim to have the fastest 3G network.

ATT wireless internet includes a collection of networks and technologies include HSDPA, HSUPA, UMTS, W-CDMA, EDGE, GPRS, GSM. For a technical explanation of what that means look here.

There is a very nice 3G network comparison chart you can get here from Verizon Wireless. I haven't seen the other wireless providers with a comparison map, but I guess that's to be expected.

USB Modems:ATT Wireless Internet

ATT offers many ways to get connected on the road. In addition to usb modems to plug into your laptop, ATT also offers a variety of wireless-ready Netbooks with wireless internet plans. They also allow free access to thousands of wifi hotspots with your wireless plan.
